Akshay Saha is a grade 10 student at Lynbrook High who passionately studies the world through the historical events that have framed its present state, and literatures that reflect on the world as it has developed over the course of time. Besides World history and World literature, Akshay also has a keen interest in Chemistry, Mathematics, French, Art & Design, and Computer programs. His interest in computer programming and design specifically has made him eager to dive deep into different case studies that shed light on urban design and architecture. Besides his academic interest, the urban space also appeals to him for the inhabitable housing conditions that are suffered by socioeconomically challenged communities. It is for the same reason that he is driven to work in the area of urban housing to address the needs of those who find it difficult to find a permanent shelter due to the increasing rate of housing prices and human population in the cities of India.
Outside of school, Akshay is quite a creative artist, whose proclivities have taken him towards both visual and digital art. He has been a proactive participant in his school art club, where he not only engages in group art projects but also partakes in community engagement programs to extend aid to underserved groups. His training in the visual arts goes back to his early years of development, since when he has honed his skills in sketching to then go on to produce digital art and animation for his own YouTube channel. It was during this early age that Akshay also began his golf training, mastering the basic techniques of the game to then participate in high-level tournaments. He is also a skilled basketball player with over four years of training and having competed against skilled players of local clubs.
